The Boyd Center hosted an economic forecasting luncheon on Sept. 8 to share what’s in store for Tennessee’s economy in 2017. Boyd Center Director Bill Fox and Associate Director Matt Murray presented 2017 Economic Outlook: Global, National, and State Perspectives.
Economic growth in Tennessee has outpaced national growth in recent quarters. This trend is expected to continue for the next two years as personal income and nonfarm job growth continue while the state’s unemployment rate rests below the nation’s.
A new set of population projections
for Tennessee counties and metro areas are now available. The single-year projections of Tennessee's resident population are available by age, sex, and race/ethnicity and cover 2011 to 2064.
