Raquel Alexander
Raquel Meyer Alexander is an assistant professor of accounting at the University of Kansas. Prior to receiving her PhD in accounting from the University of Texas-Austin, she worked as a tax consultant for an international public accounting firm. Raquel has published articles in Journal of the American Taxation Association, Behavioral Research in Accounting, The CPA Journal, Practical Tax Strategies, Journal of State Taxation, State Tax Notes and Executive's Tax and Management Report. She currently serves on the editorial board of the Executive's Tax and Management Report. Her most work on §529 college savings plans has been cited by over 150 newspapers including the Wall Street Journal and was reported on CNBC and other television news outlets. Raquel is the 2008 recipient of the Deloitte/ATA Tax Innovation Award.
Raquel and her husband Glenn are the proud parents of three Jayhawks, Dillon (11), Mary Catherine (8) and Jimmy (5).
