Zhou Yang

Zhou Yang is a third year Ph.D. student in economics and graduate research assistant in the Center for Business and Economic Research at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.  She was born and raised in Wuhan, a city situated in the confluence of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River and Hanshui River in China.  She had previously worked for the Hubei Development and Reform Commission for four years, analyzing economic data, establishing an economic information system, and participating in the system design of Hubei provincial logistics platform.  Her major fields in the Ph.D. program are Public Finance and Industrial Organization with a minor in Applied Econometrics.  Currently, her research interest is on strategic interaction and tax competition among governments, especially in the area of tax competition in both income taxes and excise taxes.
