The Boyd Center produces single-year projections of the Tennessee resident population by age group, sex, and race/ethnicity for Tennessee counties and Metropolitan Statistical Areas (Tennessee portion only). The 2017 projections for 2016 to 2070 are based on current intercensal estimates and were calculated using cohort-component methodology with assumptions about future births, deaths, and net migration.
The Boyd Center projections are available in Excel (xlsx) format.
The Boyd Center serves as the lead agency of the U.S. Census Bureau's State Data Center program for Tennessee and is a member of the Federal-State Cooperative Program for Population Estimates.
