Michael Lobel

-

Michael Lobel believes in the importance of education. After graduating from UT’s Haslam College of Business in 1971 with a degree in accounting, he began a successful career in auditing and taxation. This led to his current philanthropic work, much of which focuses on education.

“You need the skills that you learn in college to diversify yourself,” Lobel says. “Schools do more than educate. They provide social and cultural experiences, as well as a place for faculty to research and teach.”

The center will reinforce the skills students learn in the classroom by emphasizing writing, oral and presentation skills. This training will allow students to bridge the gap between a strong analytics background and the communication foundation to relay and interpret data for the business world.
